Under the full moon
or in the light of dawn
the cherry tree breathes
in its frame of silence
heavy with blossom
or clumps of snow.

Cement rustles in its leaves
or dry dream silver:
the leaves chime in the wind,
in the stillness of sleep.

The white tree is silent
telling you all that matters,
about something privately yours,
about your absence.
