ONE UNFINISHED SAD POEM
web | Bravado
You hold the soul behind your teeth,
but she is still kicking and trying
to burst out in the open.
"Hold it, Soul! There is still some
fun and pleasure left
in the old body.
Someone may find
a bit of relish with it."
The soul is reluctant.
"I am sick and tired of you.
There is no joy left
and a 'fat chance'
to get any better."
She's talking to you this way,
and is slowly headed to the
distance. To the cosmos?
To the stars? Maybe even she
doesn't know it but some power
is pulling her there.
And the old body remains
- a useless suit. May fate
dispose of it at her whim.
While we wonder,
what is life?
- One unfinished sad poem.
